ISLAMABAD, Oct 10: The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has clarified that national sports federations can generate their own funds to meet operational expenses, responding to media reports concerning Pakistan’s participation in the World Tenpin Bowling Championship.
According to the PSB, Clause 11 of the Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation’s constitution empowers the federation to raise funds to meet its operational requirements and achieve its objectives.
The Board said government grants are subject to the availability of funds and cannot be claimed as a matter of right under Regulation 12(10) of the Sports Funding and Utilization Regulations, 2025.
The PSB also stated that the Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation received a grant of Rs10 million in July 2026.
Financial assistance for participation in international events is generally provided through reimbursement of eligible expenses after an event, subject to the availability of funds, rather than through advance payments.
The clarification outlines the funding framework governing national sports federations and the conditions under which financial assistance may be provided for international participations.
