Rawalpindi, 14 October 2026: Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) staged a remarkable comeback to beat Pakistan Television (PTV) by six wickets on the third day of the sixth round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I at the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, MIT Solutions strengthened their position against State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) at the Diamond Cricket Ground in Islamabad, while Hashim Ibrahim and Ali Zaryab scored centuries in two other matches that began on Wednesday.
Saqib Khan leads KRL fightback
Resuming their second innings at 44-2 with a lead of 135 runs, PTV were dismissed for 132 in 38.1 overs. Saqib Khan starred with the ball, taking five wickets for 37 runs.
Chasing a target of 224, KRL reached 227-4 in 41.4 overs to secure a six-wicket victory.
Iftikhar Ahmed remained unbeaten on 76 off 82 balls, while Imran Rafiq scored an unbeaten 50. Asim Ali Nasir also made a valuable contribution with 47 runs.
Earlier, KRL had been bowled out for 129 in reply to PTV’s first-innings total of 220.
MIT Solutions maintain advantage over SBP
At the Diamond Cricket Ground, SBP resumed their first innings at 138-4 and posted 344 all out, reducing MIT Solutions’ first-innings lead to 32 runs.
Rameez Aziz top-scored with 84 off 137 balls, hitting 11 fours and a six. Ali Shan remained unbeaten on 59, while Abdullah Fazal and Sardar Hassan Raza Khan contributed 58 and 51, respectively.
Khalid Usman completed a five-wicket haul for MIT Solutions, finishing with figures of 5-70.
MIT Solutions, who scored 376 in their first innings, reached 98-3 in 29 overs in their second innings to extend their overall lead to 130 runs at stumps. Hasnain Nadeem was unbeaten on 33, while Atiq-ur-Rehman was not out on 30.
Hashim Ibrahim hits unbeaten century
In a match that began on Wednesday at the Rana Naveed Cricket Academy in Sheikhupura, Hashim Ibrahim struck an unbeaten 132 to guide Ghani to 273-4 in 77 overs against Kingsmen Academy on the opening day.
Hashim faced 216 balls and struck 19 fours and a six. Malik Abdul Rafay scored 50 off 100 balls, including seven fours and a six, while Mohsin Riaz contributed 46.
Mohammad Ilyas took two wickets for 55 runs for Kingsmen Academy.
Ali Zaryab stars for OGDCL
At the LCCA Ground in Lahore, Ali Zaryab scored 120 off 203 balls to help OGDCL reach 239-5 in 70.3 overs against SNGPL at stumps on the opening day.
Ali struck 12 fours, while Mohammad Sarwar Afridi remained unbeaten on 48 after coming in at number six.
For SNGPL, Abdul Subhan and Shahnawaz Dahani claimed two wickets apiece.
